Position overview:
The Coordinator, Resource Support provides administrative, analytical, and person-centered support to help individuals supported by Sunbeam access and maximize funding opportunities, income support, subsidies, grants, benefits, and other available resources. This role assists with eligibility assessments, application and registration processes, claims submissions, tracking, reporting, and ongoing resource coordination.
Working collaboratively with individuals, families, advocates, guardians, Sunbeam staff, and external community and government partners, the Coordinator ensures timely access to available support and services. The position also uses Individual Support Plans (ISPs), Annual Financial Plans (AFPs), and Personal Outcome Measures (POMS) to identify needs, support goal achievement, and promote positive outcomes for the people Sunbeam serves.
Key Responsibilities
The Client Support Coordinator provides guidance and administrative support to help individuals access and maximize funding, benefits, subsidies, grants, and community resources that support their personal goals and quality of life. The role assists with eligibility assessments, applications, renewals, claims submissions, tracking, reporting, and ongoing resource management for programs such as Passport funding, ODSP, RDSP, Disability Tax Credit, Canada Child Benefit, Assistive Devices Program, community inclusion programs, and other government and community-based supports.
The Coordinator promotes and supports Sunbeam’s administrative services, including Passport funding administration, Personal Needs Account (PNA) management, and ODSP trustee services. Working closely with individuals supported, families, substitute decision-makers, staff, and external partners, the Coordinator identifies and shares opportunities for goods, services, and community participation that align with individual goals and needs.
Additional responsibilities include supporting financial oversight and audits, participating in Passport claims processes, attending person-centered planning meetings, reviewing resource utilization, developing action plans to optimize available supports, and collaborating with government agencies, community organizations, and internal teams to ensure effective service delivery and positive outcomes for the people supported by Sunbeam.
Educational/Technical Competencies
- Strong computer skills, competent in MS Office suite and strong database knowledge
- University degree or College Diploma in related field (Social Services, Developmental Services, Human Resources, Advocacy/Leadership)
- Direct related experience with: developmental services, social services, service coordination, passport programs, fee-for-service programs and/or other social support programs, social support program application forms and related documents, financial tracking and claims submission processes
- Knowledge of various provincial and federal legislation
