Sunbeam Developmental Resource Centre (SDRC) is the single point of access to developmental services for children in the Region of Waterloo. SDRC provides case management and clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders. SDRC also assists them and their caregivers in connecting with community services and supports. SDRC’s services are available to children and adults with developmental disabilities in Waterloo Region (www.sdrc.ca)

We are presently inviting applications for a permanent full-time Clinical Intake Coordinator for Brightside ABA Services.  The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours Monday – Friday; some evenings may be required.  The successful candidate will be based out of our 65 Hanson Ave location and may be required to travel throughout the Waterloo Region, with occasional travel outside of the region.

As part of our Brightside ABA Services (https://brightsideabaservices.com/),

the successful candidate will be required to meet with potential clients to review services and assess clinical requirements needed to meet the needs of individuals supported and their families. Additionally, the work involves maintaining the waitlist for services, liaising with Sunbeam’s Finance Department and coordinating with other members of the Brightside ABA services Team to create a cohesive intake process. Work is performed under the direction and supervision of an Ontario Registered Behaviour Analyst (R.B.A).

Qualifications:

    • Post secondary education in health and social sciences and/or equivalent experience and education in a field such as Social Work, Social Services or Psychology supplemented by several years of broad-based experience serving children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
    • Experience in working with Autism Spectrum Disorders and familiar with its impact on all aspects of functioning.
    • Familiar with the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Personal Health Information Act, various other federal and provincial legislations, directives and guidelines, corporation bylaws, policies and procedures.
    • Familiarity with the special challenges presented by Dual Diagnosis and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder is a definite asset.
    • Experience working with families and community partners, coordinating services and supports.
    • Excellent consulting and oral/written communication skills.
    • Experience using a consultative model in a community setting.
    • Requires the use of computer (e.g., WORD, Excel, Power Point, graphing and creation of charts and excel documents).
    • Experience with development and monitoring of budgets
    • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
    • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Services.
    • Experience in teaching/training.
    • Emergency First Aid and CPR
    • NVCI Training
    • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
